Compare the visit scope, transport notes and prayer traditions of the shrines currently listed here. This is a selected guide, not a complete regional directory.
Compare Sapporo’s Hokkaido Jingu, Hakodate Hachimangu and Biei’s town shrine by your actual overnight base. They are far apart, so short precinct allowances do not make them a same-day circuit. In winter, allow for snow, icy paths and transport changes.
