A short history

Kashihara Jingu was established in 1890. Its worship draws on the account of Emperor Jinmu in the Nihon Shoki; the traditional accession story is distinct from the modern shrine’s foundation.

Before you go

Check the seasonal closing time rather than assuming the same schedule all year. Formal worship inside the enclosure has separate arrangements and fees.
