A short history

Shrine tradition dates the enshrinement of three Aso kami to 806. The principal buildings were constructed in 1610–1613. Five structures—the sanctuary, corridor, offering hall, worship hall and gate—are National Treasures, with thatch and carvings characteristic of local architecture.
