Enshrined kami

Oasahiko no Okami · Sarutahiko no Okami

A short history

Its origin tradition links worship of Oasahiko Okami to the development of Awa, with Sarutahiko later enshrined alongside. It became Awa’s ichinomiya, a leading provincial shrine. The official history records rebuilding in 1880, new worship halls in 1970 and roof restoration completed in 2022.

Before you go

The German Bridge was built by German prisoners of war, according to Naruto tourism. It and the separate German House museum require extra time. No step-free route has been verified here. Follow photography and access signs, especially during ceremonies.
