Ishizuchihiko no Mikoto
A short history
Ishizuchi worship grew around the mountain and the tradition of the ascetic En no Gyoja. The modern shrine organisation followed the Meiji separation of Shinto and Buddhism. This lower honsha is distinct from the mountain’s other shrine sites.
