Our first Iwate entry is Morioka Hachimangu. Its vermilion worship hall offers an architectural stop within a Morioka itinerary. Worship availability is different from staffed-counter hours; check the latter if you want amulets or formal prayers.
The vermilion worship hall · Paulownia-flower carvings · Paired wooden dove figures
Estimated visit
25–45 min
Ordinary worship and a short main-precinct visit; excludes bus travel, festival viewing, formal prayers and queues.
Getting there
Tohoku tourism gives about 15 minutes by bus from JR Morioka Station. Check the current bus route and stop before travel; the quoted time is not a door-to-door guarantee.
