The first Ibaraki entry is Kashima Jingu. Separate the main precinct and forest walk from its distant lakeside first torii. A journey from Tokyo is additional to shrine time; the Treasure Museum is currently listed as closed.

Getting there
The official FAQ gives about 7 minutes on foot from Kashima-Jingu Station. Highway buses from Tokyo take roughly two hours, depending on traffic; confirm the current stop and timetable.
